Supporting Northern Front-Line Workers
The Regional EMS Foundation is proud to promote the education and accessibility of mental health resources to first responders in our community.
Through our programming, we work to promote wellness and healthcare in our community.
From scholarships to programs, our mission is to educate our community so that everyone is comfortable using an AED and has the knowledge to save a life.
In 2000 the Regional EMS Foundation became a registered Charity through CRA. The first initiative of the Foundation was born after Randy and Debby Waldron lost their son Shawn due to sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 19, and they began their quest to place AED’s in public areas.
AED for LIFE Program
The Regional EMS Foundation was founded in Grande Prairie, Alberta in 2000. We serve Grande Prairie and the Northwestern Alberta Region.
the need is great
We have seen an increase in PTSD, stress leave, and general burnout in EMS overtime with a marked increase through COVID. The lending library is created to support the general health of our practitioners.
