About Us

Our History

The Regional EMS Foundation Grande Prairie was founded in 2000 by a group of dedicated community members and healthcare professionals. The organization was established with the goal of raising funds to support the development and expansion of emergency medical services in the Grande Prairie region.

Over the years, the foundation has worked closely with the local EMS team to identify areas in need of improvement and to secure funding for important initiatives. Some of the key projects the foundation has supported include the purchase of an educational simulator, a non-emergency transport unit and the implementation of innovative technologies to enhance patient care.

In recent years, the foundation has also focused on raising awareness about the importance of emergency medical services and the vital role they play in the community. Through various outreach and educational programs, the foundation has helped to build stronger connections between the EMS team and the residents of the Grande Prairie region

Today, the Regional EMS Foundation Grande Prairie remains committed to supporting the growth and success of emergency medical services in the region, and continues to play a vital role in ensuring that residents have access to high-quality care when they need it most.

The Regional EMS Foundation is a keystone organization in northern Alberta that advocates and strategically guides innovation, education, mental health and wellness supports in community emergency response.
